Kirsten Leslie
I have over 30 years' experience in statutory, private and NHS psychological services and nursing, with an extensive understanding of working in a bespoke way with emotional difficulties. I managed an Occupational Health department for over 15 years, where I also held a senior psychotherapist clinical and managerial post while working at a strategic level. My experience in oncology, including palliative care and haematology, emergency services and physical health continues.
I have worked in a wide range of settings, including offering therapy at sea, and have previous experience of working with high-profile clients in front-line services. My specific expertise is in medical, emergency services (including police, undercover services and military), university and healthcare issues: trauma, culture, shame, investigations, whistleblowing and victimisation. I also work with humanitarian and charity workers, and with the impact of physical ill health on mental health.
I have a particular interest in estrangement, the specific needs of medical professionals, trauma-related psychological injury, burnout, compassion fatigue and vicarious trauma. My further areas of speciality are physical health, with a particular interest in EDS, climate change regulation, fertility trauma, loss and grief. As a member of UMHAN, I also work with neurodiverse minds and act as a university specialist mentor for ADHD and autism.

I am an accredited registered member of the BACP. I follow the BACP ethical framework, adhere to confidentiality, and work in an effective, non-judgemental setting. I am also a member of NCP, ICG, SOM and UMHAN.
